Description

A quick and easy recipe for juicy lobster tails that brings restaurant-quality flavors to your home without any fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lobster tails, about 6 to 8 ounces each
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Optional: pinch of smoked paprika or cayenne
  • Optional: a spritz of dry white wine for basting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F or set your broiler to high.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a rack on top.
  3. Using kitchen shears, cut down the top center of each lobster shell toward the tail.
  4. Pry the shell open gently and loosen the meat from the bottom shell.
  5. Lift the meat up through the opened shell and lay it on top.
  6. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  7. Brush the butter mixture over the exposed lobster meat and sprinkle with parsley and optional paprika.
  8. Place the prepared tails on the rack and roast for 8 to 10 minutes, or broil for 5 to 7 minutes.
  9. Watch for the meat to turn opaque and firm slightly, with a lightly golden top.
  10. Let the tails rest for 2 to 3 minutes, baste once more with remaining butter if desired.
  11. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon and serve immediately.

Notes

For an easy finish, pair with a simple salad or warm roll. Perfect for a weeknight meal or small celebration.
