- Red food coloring
- 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter, then stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until smooth.
- Add red food coloring until desired color is achieved, and mix in the white chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing into squares and serving.
Notes
Use room-temperature eggs for better blending. Full-fat buttermilk is recommended for the best texture. Adjust sweetness and chocolate intensity according to preference.
