- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 cup chocolate ganache (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter and chopped chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat until smooth.
- Stir in the granulated sugar until fully combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the cooled brownies.
- Drizzle the ganache over the mousse layer.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use room-temperature eggs for better blending. For cleaner edges on slices, warm your knife between cuts.
