- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1 large Egg
- 2 tablespoons Butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Vegetable Oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup sugar + 2 teaspoons cinnamon (for Cinnamon Sugar Mix)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F and set up a tray with paper towels nearby.
- In one bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine both mixtures gently until just mixed, being careful not to overmix.
- Ensure oil is at 350°F before frying.
- Drop small dough balls into the hot oil and fry for 2 to 3 minutes until golden.
- Drain on paper towels and roll in cinnamon sugar mix to coat.
- Serve warm as-is or with a dipping sauce.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days, or freeze for longer shelf life. To reheat, bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
