Description

Simple and forgiving dessert bites with a crispy exterior and tender interior, coated in cinnamon sugar.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray
  • Chocolate sauce (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt; bring to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, add flour and stir until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat.
  3. Allow to cool slightly, then mix in eggs, vanilla, and half of the sugar until smooth.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Use a piping bag to pipe bite-sized pieces of dough onto parchment paper.
  6. Spray churro bites with cooking spray and place in the air fryer basket.
  7. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Mix remaining sugar with cinnamon in a bowl.
  9. While churro bites are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  10. Serve warm with chocolate sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

Ensure that the air fryer is fully heated before cooking for an even crisp. For variations, consider adding orange zest, cardamom, or serving with melted chocolate.
