Description
Delicious and easy French Dip Tortilla Roll Ups filled with provolone cheese, roast beef, and crispy onions, served with a warm au jus for dipping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large flour tortillas, about 12 inches in diameter
- 8 slices provolone cheese, thinly sliced
- 12 ounces deli roast beef, freshly sliced
- 1 cup French fried onions
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) beef consommé
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Set oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay a tortilla flat and place 2 slices of provolone cheese over half of it. Add approximately 3 ounces of roast beef and a generous handful of French fried onions.
- Brush the inside edge of the tortilla lightly with olive oil.
- Starting from the filled end, roll up the tortilla tightly and press the oiled edge to seal. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Repeat with the remaining tortillas, keeping the rolls snug on the sheet.
- Brush tops and sides of each roll with the remaining olive oil.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until golden brown and cheese begins to bubble at the edges.
- While roll ups bake, combine consommé, water, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder in a small saucepan. Heat over medium and whisk to blend; simmer for 3–4 minutes until hot and fragrant.
- Let baked roll ups rest for 2 minutes on a wire rack before slicing.
- Serve slices on a platter with warm au jus for dipping.
Notes
Rolls can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated. They also freeze well unbaked for future use.
