Description

Easy to make and share, these heart shaped chocolate chip cookies are a comforting treat perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture until blended.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and sprinkles if using, folding gently.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the baking sheet, flattening them slightly.
  7. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to shape the cookies.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a different texture, replace 2 tablespoons of flour with oats. To keep the heart shape, chill the dough before cutting.
