Description

A simple and joyful dessert featuring fudgy brownies with M&M’s for a crunchy and colorful touch.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup M&M’s (plus more for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown, then remove from heat.
  3. Mix the browned butter with granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until glossy and slightly thickened.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the batter is smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in the M&M’s, reserving some for topping.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, sprinkle with additional M&M’s, and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
