Description

A simple and elegant dish featuring broiled lobster tails enhanced with zesty lemon garlic butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6-8 ounce) lobster tails, fresh or frozen (thawed)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven broiler to high heat and position an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup and steady heat reflection.
  3. Using sharp kitchen shears, cut lengthwise down the center of the top shell of each tail, stopping just before the tail fan.
  4. Gently pull the meat up through the opening you cut, resting it on top of the shell.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let sit briefly.
  6. Brush half of the lemon garlic butter mixture evenly over the exposed lobster meat.
  7. Place the prepared lobster tails on the foil-lined baking sheet with the meat facing up.
  8. Broil for 5 to 7 minutes, watching for edges setting and surface turning golden.
  9. Remove the tails and brush the remaining butter mixture over the meat.
  10. Return the tails to the broiler for another 3 to 5 minutes until the meat is opaque and firm to the touch.
  11. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Let the lobster rest briefly before serving to allow juices to settle.
