Description

A delightful and tender cookie with a soft center and a dusting of powdered sugar, perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • Powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until combined.
  4. Beat in the eggs, vanilla extract, and red food coloring until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Roll the dough into balls and coat them in powdered sugar.
  8. Place the balls on a baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the tops crack.
  10. Let cool on a wire rack before transferring to a storage container.

Notes
