Description

A gentle, no-fuss dessert that combines boxed cake mix with fresh strawberries and a creamy center to create a delightful and comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup crushed strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Whipped cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until well combined.
  3. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Spread the crushed strawberries evenly over the batter.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of this mixture over the strawberries.
  5. Pour the remaining cake batter over the cream cheese layer and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool, then serve with whipped cream.

Notes

For best results, store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature with whipped cream.
