Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two heart-shaped cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly distributed.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, until smooth.
- Divide the batter between the two pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool completely before removing from pans.
- Frost the cooled cakes with buttercream frosting using piping tips for decorative designs.
- Add food coloring to frosting if desired and pipe on decorations.
